Default Great Start.........What's Next? OA83's Predictions

After a terrific 4-0 start to the season, I thought it may be interesting to take a look at the remaining games in the month of October.
If people like this idea maybe I can do this for every month

Wed Oct 22, 2008 Oilers @ Blackhawks 7:00 PM
The Blackhawks have played well since their coach has been fired and they do have an awful lot of skill. Their goaltending has been shaky but the OIlers has been good. I think the game will come down to the netminders. The Oilers are due to get burned and the Hawks could pull out a win. I predict a high scoring game.
OA prediction: Hawks 5-4 in OT

Thu Oct 23, 2008 Oilers @ Avalanche 7:30 PM
The Oilers beat the Av's earlier this year, but they didn't play well and it was at home. I think it will be a battle, but the Av's goaltending has been very weak. I think the Oilers can steal a win from Colorado.
OA prediction: Oilers 4-2

Sat Oct 25, 2008 Oilers @ Canucks 8:00 PM
The Canucks have played surprisingly well to start the season and Luongo is always fantastic. Presuming Luongo is in net, the Canucks will likely give the Oilers all they can handle. These division rivals will likely pound out a hard hitting, low scoring game.
OA prediction: Canucks 3-2 in a SO

Mon Oct 27, 2008 Bruins @ Oilers 7:00 PM
The Bruin have been playing well (as I thought they would) and this should be a great game. Depending on who's in net for either team could be the entire difference in the game. With the Oilers being at home, I think they'll have the slight edge in this matchup.
OA prediction: Oilers 4-3

Thu Oct 30, 2008 Oilers @ Predators 6:00 PM
To end the month the Oilers and Preds will hook up in Nashville. Over the years the Preds have always caused the Oilers fits. Nashville isnt the team they once were, but they compete hard and could possibly pull out a win. The OIlers are likely a better team on paper, but games aren't decided on paper. As always I try to be unbiast, so I think Nashville may steal a win in this one.
OA prediction: Predators 3-2

If im right the OIlers could finish the month of October 6-1-1-1. Since they won there first four its not inconcievable for them to win 2 of their next 5 and collect a couple valuable points in the overtime and shootout losses. Lets see how good i guess lol. hopefully some of you will like to make some predictions too

Hey OA83, I am going to reach out here and say, I think you might be right. I think their toughest test will be tonight with the Blackhawks believe it or not, if they get past them, they should have no problem with my Canucks, unfortuantely. But I can see them getting points in the next 5 games!

At the start of the season i wouldnt have thought they would have this good of a start (i thought they'd be pretty good) but this has been amazing, and they havent even played very good imo, tonight will definately be a tough test. im surprised too that there havent been any ot or shootout games for them yet either
