Default Bettman wants NHL in Europe

Why is it that Gary Bettman wants the NHL in Europe so bad? The time changes are one thing. But when you get a team in a Canadian city and sell out every game, the answer seems to be pretty clear.
Give Hamilton a shot, or bring the Jets back to Winnipeg. Not some team stationed in Europe that will probably fold after the first year because of a lack of support. Not to mention the problems the KHL by having an NHL team in their backyard. Listen to what the players have to say Garry. Let's give our city's a chance first.

imho, Hamilton wont get a shot. The Leafs and Peddie dont want any team in between Buffalo and Toronto getting any piece of the pie. Especially the Leafs pie. THeyll go for a 2nd franchise in the city of Toronto b4 anywhere else.

Europe will have to be a stop for the NHL because of the non cap systems available to players over the pond. Big bucks above what the NHL will pay them. They dont want the salray competition. Look at waht Russia can offer some players over there, not to mention other countries with strong hockey programs and competitiveness.

Follow the money.

this is just my opinion though. what do i know? im just a dumb blonde who likez hockey. lolz

Having more canadian teams is always great. Hockey fans who live in Toronto and cheer for other teams or canīt get tickets for the Leafs would certainly adopt the new team.

But...please not another Toronto

Default Canes use late rally to edge Sens

(Sports Network) - Joe Corvo netted the game-winning goal with 2:40 remaining in the third period and added an assist, as the Carolina Hurricanes rallied past the Ottawa Senators, 2-1, at the RBC Center.
Dennis Seidenberg scored a power-play goal and Michael Leighton made 22 saves for the Hurricanes, who have won three of their last four games.

Carolina head coach Peter Laviolette earned his 240th NHL win, surpassing former Tampa Bay bench boss John Tortorella to become the winningest American- born coach in league history.
Mike Fisher lit the lamp for Ottawa, which was looking for its third straight victory. Martin Gerber allowed two goals on 30 shots to take the loss.

With his club nursing a one-goal lead, Ottawa defenseman Chris Phillips was assessed a minor penalty for interference midway through the third period and the Hurricanes evened the score on Seidenberg's blast from the left point with 8:54 left on the clock.

Carolina captain Rod Brind'Amour went off for tripping with five minutes remaining, but the Senators were unable to convert and the Hurricanes grabbed the lead moments later.

Ottawa was pinned in its zone and had difficulty clearing the puck. Eventually, the disc landed on the stick of Corvo and he fired a wrister high over the glove of Gerber with 2:40 to play in regulation and Carolina held on for the win.

After a fruitless opening period, Fisher put Ottawa on the board late in the middle stanza. Daniel Alfredsson's bid from inside the right circle was kicked out by Leighton, but Fisher, coming down the slot, slipped the rebound underneath the goaltender's right leg with 1:52 remaining.

Default Pens' Crosby questionable for Saturday's game against Isles

Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) - Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby left practice early on Friday, leaving his playing status for Saturday's road contest against the New York Islanders up in the air.
The top overall pick in 2005, Crosby has been hampered by a lingering undisclosed injury suffered in an October 30 game versus the Coyotes.

The 21-year-old phenom has three goals and 16 points in 13 games this season.

Default Stars activate D Zubov off IR

The Dallas Stars activated defenseman Sergei Zubov off the injured reserve list Friday.
The 38-year-old Zubov missed all of training camp and the first 12 games of this season after undergoing hip surgery in September.

Injuries limited the veteran blueliner to only 46 games last season. He registered four goals and 31 assists to go along with a plus-six rating.
The highest-scoring Russian-born defenseman in NHL history, Zubov is the only blueliner in the league to collect at least 30 assists in each of the last 12 seasons. He ranks third in games played (829), third in assists (434), and sixth in points (545) in Stars' franchise history.

Entering his 16th season, he has appeared in 1,058 games, scoring 152 goals and 615 assists for 767 points. He has also played for the Rangers and Penguins.

Also, he has played in 164 postseason games and has 24 goals and 93 assists. He has been a part of two Stanley Cup teams, one with the Rangers in 1994 and one with Dallas in 1999.

Default Lundqvist

Could not believe what happened in tonights game with the Canucks against the Rangers. The Canucks were on a 5 on 3 power play and when they scored the 5th goal in tonights game the Rangers goalie Lundqvist skated straight to the bench and sat down. He pulled himself from the game in the middle of a 5 on 3. Would love to be in the dressing room after that to see what the coach said. What could the coach do when a goalie pulls himself. He cannot force him to go back out. Poor choice I believe by Lundqvist. JMOP
