Default Bertuzzi... is he back?

Todd Bertuzzi is playing back in Canada, after making stops in Florida, Detroit and Anaheim. Bertuzzi never really found his mark after the Steve Moore incident in Vancouver. What should ease Bertuzzi's transition into the Calgary Flames lineup is knowing the spotlight will shine on captain Jarome Iginla, one of the game's great leaders and a lock to represent Canada in the 2010 Olympics.

The Flames fans are going to love Bert's hard nosed, gritty play mixed with a scoring ability which will help ease the feelings they may have for Bert. "I'm actually very excited," added Bertuzzi. "I'm happy to be here and I'm having a lot of fun. We've put together a pretty quick and high-tempo team and the transition is looking very good -- from [Curtis] Glencross to [Rene] Bourque and [Andre] Roy and a handful of others.

With a strong first line in Cammaleri, Iginla and Bertuzzi, Bertuzzi has been able to find his scoring touch knocking in 5 goals already in 5 games. Could be a sign that Bert is back. If Todd gets more than 25 goals and 50 points he'll probably be re-signed. Good luck Bertuzzi!

I wouldn't quite say Bert's back. 13 points in 16 games. Not bad, but sitting at a -9, is terrible. The Flames in general are playing poor defensive hockey, and Kipper, should have been pulled agaisnt Chicago. He has not looked that good this year, and back to Bert, I don't think he can hit anymore. He looks like he's afraid to play aggresive, and that is what has made him a better hockey player. The struggles are showing in the Flames, and weaknesses are being jumped on. This team needs to find some defense , and keep the puck out of there net.

Bertuzzi can't hit. Don't think he remembers how, or he is too afraid. He needs to find his balls, and play hockey once again.
