Default Ovechkin or Crosby - Who would you have lead your team?

Both players were first round, first overall picks in the NHL draft. Both performed under a tremendous amount of pressure as all eyes were upon them as the season went on, although the pressure was certainly more intense for Crosby with all of Canada looking for the next superstar. Here is the most impressive marker achieved to date by either of these players: Crosby became the youngest player in NHL history to reach 100 points in a season.

While both will become superstars, Ovechkin is more of a pure goal scorer while Crosby can do it all. Any honest general manager in the NHL would undoubtedly choose the ability of Crosby over Ovechkin any day.

I agree Crosby has more of the whole package and works hard all the time. Ovechkin is obviously good but I really think he is limited to talent and not as much of the leadership role as Crosby is.

Default Crosby

Me I'm taking Crosby, led a team to the cup already is slightly younger than Alex and can do more, Ao's best year is likely last year 60 Goals 35- 40 Assists. Crosby's top year is somewhere ile 35-40 goals and 75-100 assists. Read a stat last year that Crosby is responsible for approx 30% of penguins offensive production this stat included thing like when he shoots an the resulting scramble the Pens score but he doesn't get the assist or when he draws a penalty and pens score with him off the ice.

Ovechkin. He just seems like he is more mature than crosby. Remember what happened in the scf? the water bottle incident? and remember what zetterberg did when he did the dreaded 5 on 3 what did crosby say? 'Awww what's so special about that; anyone coulda done it' Now I don't agree with alexander semin when he said crosby is nothing special, he's obviously talented and belongs with the star or the semi star title but as for leadership i don't see how you guys can claim he's a great leader when he's obviously lacking in areas of the leadership role. I have never heard of Ovechkin doing or saying such things what Crosby did and said during the scf.

Default Ovechkin

Tough call, I think they both are natural talents at this game, and both are still mastering the skills they have. They both offer the best from their country in their abilities. I think the thing that seperates them apart is maturity, which I think Ovechkin is one step ahead. Now if you talk better player I would put the edge with Crosby, better leader - Ovechkin.

I think that this Semin & Ovechkin will put up more points than Crosby and Malkin.
