Last week, we learned that several Minnesota Wild players would be growing mustaches this month in support of Movember, which is "changing the face of men's health" by raising funds and awareness for prostate cancer research. Wild defenseman Nick Schultz has a friend whose father is afflicted with prostate cancer.
Schultz entered he and his teammates into the Movember.com contest, which is governed by the following rules:
Once registered, each "bro" must start clean-shaven on November 1
* There is to be no joining the "mo" to the sideburns, which would be termed a beard
* There is to be no joining of the "handlebars" to the chin, which would constitute a goatee.
* A small complimentary growth under the lower lip (a tickler) is allowed.
There is even a mustache style guide on the website with names for every conceivable type of mustache, so after one week, we'll take a look at some of the Minnesota Mo Bros progress by looking at their preseason headshots and putting them next to photos that were taken on Friday.
