Default 5 on 3 Advantage? Pull the Goalie

You guys here about Uwe Krupp Krupp has done with his German team, pullling the goalie when he has a 5 -on- 3, bringing on obviously a 6 -0n- 3. Says it hasn't backfired yet and his team being scored on, check this out...

5 on 3 advantage? Pull the goalie

I am looking forward for the day that we see this tried in the NHL! Good move Krupp.

I was also thinking of another time to pull a goalie. If you're down by a goal or two with 1 min remaining in the 1st, 2nd or 3rd period.

Krupp has a good idea with this. I think it'll spread to the NHL in the next couple seasons.

I still think it's a bit risky but I think it work half the time.

Yeah. It is risky, but a 6 on 3 with a team with even a OK PP should still be able to control the puck all the time. I'd keep a 3rd guy at the point, just incase. Go 1-2-3 with 1 guy infront of the net, 2 at the side boards, 3 at the point.
