Default Skates - Your most important piece of equipment.

Hockey is a gear-heavy sport, and the most important piece of equipment is a high-performance pair of skates.

Skates are the bridge between the player and the ice. All the raw power from your legs is transferred through the blade right down to the ice surface. A great skate will give you the speed, quickness, stability and agility to excel in all aspects of your game play, while being so comfortable and well-fitted that you don’t’ even know you’re wearing them.

Much research and innovation has gone into hockey skate design over the past few decades – with regards to fit, comfort and performance. Heat-moldable boots and foam liners that adapt to suit the shape of your individual foot mean that buying a skate “off the rack” is almost like having your skate custom-made just for you. The science of power transfer has been near-perfected, the ideal balance of stability and flexion have been realized, and the skates of today are no less than high-tech machines geared toward performance.

To really hone in on these advancements in skate construction, you need to look at hockey’s top brands - Nike Bauer, Easton. CCM, Mission and Rbk each have developed their own patented features with comfort, control, power transfer, stability, speed, turning radius, precision and moisture management in mind. Hockey Experts is your source for the top-of-the line skates from these world class hockey brands.

My favorite skate - the Nike Bauer Vapor XXXX. Just purchased, and these skates are amazing. Good fit and good feel, comes with a price though. Around $550 bucks.

If you've picked up new skates let us what kind and what you think!!
