Default McCabe injured in Panthers debute

D Bryan McCabe, who was making his Panthers debut, left midway through the second period of Friday's game against the Hurricanes with an apparent left leg injury. He twisted as he collided with Dennis Seidenberg into the boards and went down immediately. He had to be helped off the ice and put no weight on his leg. McCabe had an assist in 10:49 of ice time. Analysis: McCabe was having a pretty decent Florida debut up until getting injured in the second period. It looked as though he was in a lot of pain, but Florida is so far treating this as a day-to-day issue. If he doesn't play Saturday against the Thrashers, then McCabe is an injury-risk start for Fantasy Week 2 (Oct. 13-19). When healthy, he is a must-start Fantasy option as one of the top offensive defenseman in the NHL.
