The Hockey Hall of Fame opened its doors to four more members. Igor Larionov, Glenn Anderson, linesman Ray Scapinello and the family of the late Ed Chynoweth were all presented with Hall of Fame rings during a morning ceremony.
I agree with the four being chosen , Larionov was such a great player. I'm as big a fan of hack and chop as the next Canadian but he was a pleasure to watch. I don't disagree that Glen Anderson should be in the hall of fame but they should add the number of stiches he inflicted on his opponents' faces. In fact the high sticking penalty as currently enforced could be nicknamed the Anderson penalty !
I think the Hockey Hall of Fame has been remiss by not including Claude Provost as a member.Provost won 9 (nine) Stanley Cups and was one of the reasons the Habs won five cups in a row. He was not a huge scorer but was assigned to cover the othe teams stars such as Bobby Hull. Provost won 9 cups the Leafs have won 11.Put Provost in the Hall.
Nice call with Provost. He wasn't the most sturdy guy on skates, but he did do a great job, he improved offensively, was a great checker, and still managed to pop in 33 goals in 64-65. And hey 9 cups, thats impressive. I agree he deserves a spot.
A lot of people scoff at the fact Dick Duff made the Hall. He played on 6 Cup winning teams and played on 12 all star teams in 18 years. He scored the winning goal for the leafs to take the cup in 1964. He certainly belongs......
