I think Kovalchuk will be playing somewhere else. Lidstrom will prob stay with Detroit.

I see Lidstrom retiring in 1-2 years time. Kovalchuk will not end the year with the Atlanta , the two main teams hunting him down is Chicago and much to the shagrin of Oil fans Calgary. If there were to be a trade it would a blockbuster one for sure.

I could see Kovie going to Chicago more than Calgary. They are higher up in the West and a much better team.

But the Flames could make the better offer. From what I've heard, nobody on the Flames is safe from being traded, including Iginla.

Well Phaneuf or Reghyr might work , on offense they might put up Lankow, Dawes , Giordano. Iggy i bet wouldn't move. If there were to be a trade between the two , one of the those D-men will most likely be seen switching teams.

Well Sutter said he believes in the current roster, so I guess nobodys going to be traded

As for the Kovalchuk thing, the Thrashers cant ask for alot. Like lets say Kovie want to go to Chicago. If Thrashers ask for Kane or Toews in return, Blackhawks could drop out and sign him after. Atlanta most likely wont get equal value for Kovalchuk because he is FA at the end of the season.

True but still Don Waddell said he already wants established NHL players. He's already learned about Heatley and Hossa.
